The Philippine Army (PA) has presented its newly acquired armored personnel carriers (APC) along with the celebration of the 10th year activation of Mechanized Infantry Division.

From as far as 500 meters, the 3 new APC armed with  unmanned turret system have subsequently hit the cylindrical container target.

This is how accurate and strong are the new M113 based APC of the Philippine Army which were upgraded by an Israeli based company.

This is a part of the acquisition project of the AFP.

The APCs were mounted with 25mm MK 242 Bushmaster gun with a secondary weapon 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.

Its gunner’s observation system has CCD camera, Thermal Imager and Laser Range Finder.

According to the Department of National Defense (DND) Sec. Delfin Lorenzana, they plan to show President Rodrigo Duterte the capability of the new assets and to purchase more units.

“We acquired more of these units. I think we need to concentrate on it because it hits the target accurately. We can save ammo. Less ammunition are needed.”

The Philippine Army plans to bring these new assets to Mindanao to help with AFPs offensive operation against the bandit group Abu Sayyaf.
